Jan Miller studied film at the Slade School of Art. Her poem, Not Land, was shortlisted for the 2018 Bridport Poetry Prize and is part of the sound work, queen of the sea, begun during a National Theatre Wales WalesLab residency. Recent work includes: documentation, The Suicide Chronicles HeART of Glass; lead artist on TATE's #Spark Change; Community Associate National Theatre Wales' Lifted By Beauty: Adventures in Dreaming and posie-maker to The Army of Beauty for artist Mark Storor. During the TATE Circuit programme at MOSTYN she devised innovative, creative learning & mentoring opportunities for marginalised young people; post-Lifted By Beauty, she founded the self-led drama group, Castpals, on International Women’s Day, 2018 at Rhyl’s North Wales Women's Centre. They continue to devise and perform their own work independently. Exhibitions include '&: On Collaboration' at MOSTYN; works in the studio, 'Cosmos' & ‘Eclipse’, continue the series, the space between. She is the founder of Film Team, a young filmmakers unit making films by and for themselves.
